Community Supported Share
Community Supported Shares are monetary contributions from the community to be used to support our neighbors facing food insecurity. This program has evolved every year since we started making this a focus five years ago. We are happy to say we have built a relationship with Glen Lake Community School to make produce from our farm available to student's and their families facing food insecruity throughout the summer months.
Last year GLCS partnered with Leelanau Christian Neighbor to run a summer program to fill the gap felt without the Blessings In a Backpack program (food is sent home with students after school). We provided produce shares to a number of families, completely free.
We plan to continue this work this summer. Expanding and strengthening our approach to make more food available to more families.

Why This is Offered?
We are community supported farm and a farm that exists to support the community. While we offer shares for purchase, we know there are folks in our very own neighborhood whom cannot access such a "luxury". We do not want price, transportation, or any other means from keeping our community from eating healthy food grown on local farms.
With the extreme gap in access present in our community we feel it is only right to ask those with food security to help those with less food security. We hope that by shifting the weight of inequity to those with much to share we will see more propserity in our community and more happiness in those we serve.
